AV consulting and design for Uniarts Fine Arts Academy in Helsinki in an EU funded MAGICS project.
The project aims to create a suitable AV/IT systems design infrastructure for two Uniarts spaces for multidisciplinary use, exploration, testing and experimentation for Fine Arts students, including those of Space-Time division (Tila-Aika), and others such as VÄS/Teak.
The project process includes:
- Research of ideal tools, audiovisual gear including audio speaker systems, projectors, displays, interconnectivity and synchronization.
- Designing a minimalist system with a low barrier to entry, minimizing fear, while taking latest AV/IT technologies into consideration
- Balancing multidisciplinary wide variety of student needs and backgrounds with understanding of the complexity of human senses (upto 54, per ecopsychologist Michael Cohen)
- School´s existing inhouse systems such as Pino and Alkio (developed by Tuomo Rainio), and XModal (developed by Roberto Pugliese) will be utilized with commercial gear.
- Suggested AV/IT systems design draft for two spaces, a Digital Studio and a Multimedia Studio, as well as a final document.
The final system AV purchases will be defined in two layers, in fall 2026 and spring 2027.
